The immensely popular Netflix docuseries Making A Murderer is finally returning to the streaming service for a thrilling second season.

Set to release on Oct. 19, Making A Murderer Part 2 follows the post-conviction of Steven Avery and his nephew Brendan Dassey, who were found guilty of the 2005 murder of photographer Teresa Halbach in Manitowoc County, Wis.

The new series will focus on the impact the convictions have had on Avery and Dassey, as well as the emotional toll on their family, including Dassey’s mother, Barb Tadych.

The second season will also introduce Avery’s post-conviction lawyer Kathleen Kellner, who has an extensive track record of acquitting those with wrongful convictions.

“The deeper we dig into the Avery conviction, the more evidence we uncover of his innocence,” said Kathleen Zellner in a statement on her official website.

Avery is currently serving life in prison for first-degree murder, where Dassey is serving the same sentence (with a chance of parole in 2048) for first-degree murder, second-degree sexual assault and mutilation of a corpse.
