7 Halloween attractions to visit in Toronto this year

While Halloween is quickly approaching, it’s not too late to visit the many horror-themed attractions and paranormal adventures the city has to offer.


These attractions are in and around the Toronto area and have been scaring visitors for years. In no particular order, here are seven last-minute Toronto attractions to visit this weekend.


Halloween Haunt


The grounds of Canada’s Wonderland transform into Halloween Haunt every October until the days leading up to Halloween. The park has over 15 horror-themed mazes, houses and rides, including their newest attractions Wicked Hollow, The Crypt and Vampire Disco. Live monsters roaming the park and designated scare zones enhance this terrifying atmosphere.

Screemers

Screemers is considered to be “Toronto’s original and best haunted attraction,” according to its official website. The scream park, which has been providing thrills for 26 years, features seven interactive horror mazes, including a slasher wax museum. Their newest attraction is The Kill Show, which centers around a magician’s descent to madness after an audience member is killed during one of his Las Vegas shows.

Legends of Horror at Casa Loma

Toronto’s castle, once home to Sir Henrey Pellatt and Lady Mary Pellatt in the early 20th century, is turned into an immersive two kilometre walking tour that features classic horror figures, such as Dracula and the Phantom of the Opera. Guests begin the self-guided tour outside the castle and eventually work their way into the castle’s dark tunnels.

Ghost Walks Toronto

Hear the vivid ghost stories in this immersive guided tour around the Yonge-Dundas square area. The tour begins on the steps of Old City Hall, and stops by many haunted places in Toronto, including the Mackenzie House, Massey Hall, St. Michael’s hospital and the Elgin and Winter Garden theatre.

The Séance at Black Creek

While this attraction is on the pricer side, if you’re in the mood for a real spook, the Séance at Black Creek is just the place for you. Located on the grounds of Pioneer Village, this paranormal attraction is mediated by mindreader Jaymes White. White attempts to make contact with spirits in what Pioneer Village’s website considers to be one of the “most haunted buildings in the city.”

Haunted High Park

High Park after dark features a guided tour around the park with thrilling ghost tales and legends. Guest will then experience traditional Victorian style funeral and mourning customs inside the Colborne Lodge, as well as a Seance in the Eldritch Theatre performed by Doc Wuthergloom. Refreshments are provided!

The Original Haunted Walk of Toronto with Mackenzie House Experience

Departing from the courtyard of the Hockey Hall of Fame, this guided tour brings guests to some of the most haunted places in the city. The walk features spooky ghost stories about haunted buildings and unsolved mysteries in the city, as well as a personal tour of Mackenzie House, the haunted home of Toronto’s first mayor.
